For apartments and many commercial buildings, external walls must meet combustibility requirements. Here is where non-combustible aluminium fits.
The combustibility requirement
The National Construction Code sets requirements for the external walls of certain building classes - particularly multi-residential and commercial - including provisions around combustible materials following the cladding reviews of recent years.
Non-combustible to AS 1530.1
Aluminium as a substrate is non-combustible when tested to AS 1530.1. Specifying a solid, non-combustible aluminium product gives certifiers confidence and avoids the combustible-core concerns associated with some composite panels.
Compliance is about the system
A single product does not make a wall compliant - the complete external wall system and its detailing determine the outcome. We can supply product information to support your fire engineer and certifier.
Timber look, compliant build
The point many designers appreciate: you do not have to give up the timber aesthetic to meet combustibility requirements. Woodgrain aluminium delivers the look within a compliant, non-combustible specification.
