A screen can't show you how a grain catches the light, and a printed brochure shifts the colour. The only honest way to judge a finish is to hold the real coated piece next to your existing brick, render or roofline, in your own light, at different times of day.
Choose the finishes you're weighing up — say Spotted Gum against Blackbutt, or Western Red Cedar against Jarrah — and compare them side by side before you commit to a whole facade.
