The street impact
On many homes the garage door and carport are the largest single element facing the street. Treated as a feature rather than an afterthought, they can lift the whole frontage.
How to use it
Clad a garage-door wall or a carport blade in woodgrain to tie it into the facade, line the carport ceiling to match, and use battens to soften a blank side wall. The aim is to make the garage read as part of the design.
Why aluminium suits it
Carports and garage walls cop sun, weather and the odd knock. Aluminium holds its finish, will not rot at the base, and needs no repainting - practical for a high-traffic, high-exposure part of the home.
